Milestone 1: Ship Something

So the goal of the first milestone is to get a minimum amount of work done in order to ship Durham:

  1. Make the Quick Edit Perspective (picture), with the File List view and Properties view. I need help here because I don't know much about Eclipse/RCP perspectives and views, though I do know a good amount of SWT/JFace
  2. Re-arrange the existing id3v1, id3v2 and MPEG libraries (from AudioMan 1) for Durham's API, which leads to...
  3. Make an initial API for Durham for metadata plugins, preferably based on Eclipse plugin extension points, which I don't know how to do yet

I'll be busy enough with the metadata stuff if someone wants to tackle the UI. The CVS details are on an old post and you can just send me patches.

Update: Actually, I've gotten a pretty good start on the UI. Check out the CVS repository to see the progress. Helpful: Eclipse RCP Browser Example.

I am very interesting in helping out - but I have to wait until I quit one of my many jobs :-)

For the record (in case anyone cares), I am

+ a server at the Keg
+ a consultant with Deloitte
+ a independent developer with PowerLevel.net
+ a travel agent with travelonly (travelonlyottawa.ca)
+ a bank machine owner (hands off really ;-)

Yeah, I mean it would be nice and all to work on a nice opensourced project. However, I think most of us don't really have the time between our jobs and our social lives. If i'm going to program in my off-time, then it's going to be little programs that I don't really have to worry about.
