Feds Benefits
I'm curious about the Canadian federal government benefits package. What does it include? How much would it cost an individual to get similar benefits on their own? (ie. outside of a group policy for insurance, etc). Also, what does the pension plan entail? This information is probably online somewhere ... As I find this information I'll post links here. Roy should have the ins, but I'll talk about my once-removed experience... 1) Having kids rocks. You have take upto 1 year at about 90% of your salary. And even better you can be away from the job (not sure how this applies to men - but paternity leaves are an option as well these days) for another 4 years (so that's 5 years in total)... with jeopardizing your position or senority once you get back. 2) Overall, everything is shuper. When we merged back into one company at Deloitte, the benefits people said that the D&T (the big fish in this merger) have an excellent plan - relative to other private firms. Then there was a chuckle about how you cannot even compare to government, because you'll just feel shaften in the end... » Posted by: aforward at November 20, 2003 12:00 PMYeah, you'ld have to be more specific as to which area you're interested in. There are so many benefits. Sometimes, most employess don't even use them. + Excellent discounts on hotels/car rentals. ... and the list goes on... » Posted by: roy at November 20, 2003 06:12 PMI want to know *all* of the benefits. » Posted by: Ryan at November 20, 2003 06:27 PMHot chicks at your beck and call. You have a private number to get them. How's that for a cool benefit. Not many people know about that. » Posted by: itsy at November 20, 2003 07:03 PM |
