No Mic? Use Headphones

Want to have an audio conversation on an instant messenger client but don't have a mic? Hook a pair of headphones into the mic jack on the back of your computer and talk into them. I don't know how it works, but it does!

A mic and speaker do the same thing, converting vibrations into electronic signals and vice versa. Technically you could use a mic for a speaker if you wanted to...

I used to do that with my Zoltrix speakers on my computer back when I was 15 and wanted to have my voice when my computer starts up :-)

What Frank said above is correct.
